Jerome Mazursky, President

Introduction

Jerome Mazursky began his career as a New York City Tax Assessor and worked primarily in the Manhattan office where he was responsible for the valuation of some of the highest valued properties in the city.

When a vacancy occurred at the NYC Tax Commission, he was appointed interim Tax Commissioner of Staten Island. During his tenure at that position, he conducted more than 1,500 hearings and received a letter of commendation from the President of the Tax Commission.

He was subsequently appointed to the position of Assistant Commissioner of Finance and was responsible for the operation of the Property Division, which included the borough Assessors’ offices, the Surveyors’ offices and the R.E.U.C. unit.

In 1985, he founded The Mazursky Group, Inc, a real estate tax consulting and appraisal firm which has successfully represented some of New York’s largest owners and developers in challenging their assessed values. Jerome Mazursky is a New York Certified General Appraiser and has earned the prestigious professional designations of the Appraisal Institute (MAI) and the International Association of Assessing Officers (CAE).
